Guest Post: Yarn as self-care with...
Hi, I’m Jackie! You might recognize me from some of the recent CYC campaigns. I’m 23 years old, a senior in the Fibers program at UNT, and yarn is one of my greatest loves!
I learned to crochet when I was 14. Before then I had always been captivated by the colors and textures of yarn but I never really knew what to do with it. If I could have seen where I've ended up today, I would’ve been so surprised.

Introducing Happy Place
Yarn hoarding is something that most, if not every, yarn lover goes through. It’s easy to buy yarn but finding the best storage is not always easy (we do, however, have a couple handy guides of the best storage products from Target and Ikea). I think I speak for all of us when I say yarn is not the easiest thing to organize.
Happy Place is a new series of blog posts that we will feature on our blog and social media throughout 2019. In each post, we will interview different yarnists...

Introducing Yarn & Such
There are a lot of ways that yarn intersects with other aspects of our lives. Making projects takes time; buying yarn and tools costs money; knitting and crochet (and all the other yarn crafts) are therapeutic; the list goes on.
Yarn & Such is a new series of blog posts and videos that we will feature on our blog and YouTube channel throughout 2019. These videos will feature our three yarnsists from last November’s Unravel video series (which we will be continuing on...

The Ultimate Yarn Haul
What’s better than a bus filled with yarn? Maybe a vintage VW bus filled with yarn and a 1970’s- themed photoshoot to match?
At the end of July, CYC collaborated with The Rosemary Bus and The DIME Store Denton to bring you this year’s I Love Yarn Day pictures. We captured the ultimate yarn haul and filled a 1971 VW bus to the brim with bright, luscious yarn. Check out our Pinterest board to see all the edited pictures!
The DIME Store yarn bombed the outside of the store and pom-...

#HumansThatYarn is finally here!
We’re so excited because our fall campaign is finally here: #HumansThatYarn! Throughout the rest of the year, we’re going to be featuring six unique people who all craft with yarn and whose stories reflect the variety of people who identify as yarnists. We’ll also highlight several other people in the yarn community who have unique stories that anyone can relate to.
The point of the campaign is to spotlight the unique people behind yarn crafts, rather than focus on one specific type of...

More yarn, more problems: Target Edition
Ah, the age-old problem of figuring out where to store all that yarn. It may not seem like a big deal, but yarn takes up space. Especially when you buy more yarn than you have time to use.
Does this sound familiar? You might recall our “More yarn, more problems: The best Ikea storage items” blog post from last year. In it, we showed you several stylish and multi-functional items that you can purchase from Ikea to store your yarn and decorate your home.
This time, we went...

Member Spotlight: Clover
Clover Needlecraft. The first word of this company’s name might seem odd for a business that sells knitting, crochet, quilting and sewing tools. But when you hear the story behind the name, it makes sense.
It all started when a young college student named Toshio Okada would study in the park and use clovers to bookmark his pages. When Mr. Okada later founded the company, he remembered the hard work and dedication it took to succeed in his studies and all the clovers stuck...
